Re-assigning a task from within a project

With Okappy you can create jobs or projects.  A project is simply a job with one or more tasks.  (See how to add tasks to jobs).

You can assign your jobs to your employees, subcontractors or leave the job unassigned initially.  But what happens when you want to re-assign a task within a project to a different employee or subcontractor?

Follow the steps below to easily re-assign your tasks.

Re-assign a task

  1. If you’re an administrator, click into the job from the jobs dashboard or calendar
  2. Scroll down to the bottom of the screen, and

  3. Click Additional tasks to open a window showing all tasks related to that job

  4. Click the relevant task to open the task details
  5. Click the name under the section Work details, Done by 
    Re-assign a task to an employee or subcontractor
  6. The re-assign job window will be displayed.  Choose the new employee or subcontractor that you want to assign the task to

  7. Check whether to Send notifications of the new job via SMS to your employee or subcontractor (if a mobile telephone number has been set up)
  8. Click Assign

The new engineer will be notified by push notification and/or SMS text message.
